𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗻 Chair
The other topic is nomadic backs that have been the source of inspiration for the plan ahead. But before that, a brief history of these backs and their use in Iran has been provided. The first use of them dates back to ancient times. From the Achaemenid era onwards, the back was used as a basic and important tool in everyday life. Initially, those were used as a type of carpet or cover on the ground for sitting and resting. This cultural and practical object, with its special beauties, has undergone changes over time and has turned into a small type of furniture called a “poshti”. The important point about “poshti”, especially the nomadic one that have been the inspiration for this design, is the issue of flexibility. “Poshti” allows the body to maintain flexibility while using them. This important feature allows the user to move freely and use body posture changes to rest better. Body flexibility when using “Poshti” plays an important role in providing comfort and rest. In summary, two important axes for the design were proposed: the circular form and flexibility. Nomadic backs that are cylindrical in shape have a circular cross-sectional area. The circle was used for seat form and the concept of back flexibility in the type of application and how the chair works.
